Care Guide

Cleaning & Drying

Hand Wash Only

Wash promptly after use with warm water and mild dish soap. Do not soak, as prolonged moisture can cause swelling, warping, or cracking.

Do Not Use a Dishwasher

High heat, steam, and harsh drying cycles can damage the wood, causing cracks, splitting, or fading.

Clean Gently

Use a soft sponge or cloth and wipe along the wood grain. Avoid steel wool, abrasive scrubbers, or harsh cleaning products.

Dry Immediately

Wipe dry with a clean towel and air dry in a well-ventilated area. Keep away from direct sunlight, stoves, ovens, and other heat sources.

Handling Common Issues

Removing Odors

Make a paste using baking soda and lemon juice. Gently rub onto the utensil, rinse, and dry thoroughly.

Restoring a Rough Surface

If the wood becomes rough over time, lightly sand the area with fine-grit sandpaper (600 grit or higher), then clean, dry, and reapply oil.

Mold Prevention

Always store in a dry, well-ventilated area. If surface mold appears, wipe with a solution of diluted vinegar and water, then dry completely before storing.

Conditioning & Maintenance

Nourish the Wood Regularly

Use a food-safe wood conditioner such as:

  • Food-grade mineral oil

  • Beeswax wood conditioner

  • Walnut oil (if no nut allergies)

Avoid cooking oils like olive oil, vegetable oil, or peanut oil, as they can become rancid.

Recommended Oiling Schedule

regular use

Whenever the wood appears dry, rough, or faded
